Jacqueline Picard, RJM


  • Member of Religious of Jesus and Mary serving in health care in Gros Morne since 1997

  • Worked in geriatric and HIV healthcare in the United States of America for 27 Years before coming to serve in Gros Morne

  • Originally from Rhode Island.  Since coming Haiti, she has dedicated herself to providing and improving community health care and working on behalf of the poor.

Gaston Jean


  • Received his degree in chemistry and natural sciences from l'École Normale supérieure, Haiti

  • Native of Grande Plaine, he founded the Association Originaires de Grande Plaine 

    (AOG) in 1992 which works with community women, youth, and farmers and also a 

    Network of “Green” Schools in the area of Gros Morne, Haiti

  • After teaching for 15 years he received a Master’s degree in Local Development with a second Master’s in Engineering of Cooperative Projects from the Catholic University of Lyon and Lille

  • Gaston is currently a PhD Candidate at Quisqueya University and INSA Lyon studying the field of ecological sanitation

  • He is also a research professor at Quality Laboratory Water and Environment 

    (LAQUE) of Quisqueya University in Haiti.

Gilles-Henri Michel


  • Retired bilingual educator who spent 20 years in the United States teaching.

  • While teaching, also received accreditation in industrial accounting law.

  • He is a Gros Morne native, and now contributes his talents as advisor to local civic and school groups in Gros Morne.
